FusoTruck Fuso’s a Canter FE/FG Series Work Trucks will soon be available from Empire Truck & Trailer. Sales Manager Mike Shannon said he expects the all-new cabover trucks to arrive within a few weeks.
“They’re designed to perform well in southwestern climate conditions, deliver greater fuel economy, and they’re competitively priced,” explains Shannon. “As Fuso dealers, we’re excited about introducing them to the market.”
Five models, covering weight ratings from class three through class five, address a wide range of vocational needs: dry freight, refrigerated delivery, landscaping and delicate cargo transport to auto recovery, municipal roadwork and snow plowing. The line includes standard chassis designs for class three through class five — the Canter FE125, Canter FE160 and Canter FE180, but also extends to a seven-passenger crew cab model, the Canter FE160CC, and the only 4-wheel-drive medium duty cabover in the industry, the FG4X4.
“Trucks of this type have been popular in Arizona for some time, but there wasn’t a lot of product differentiation among the manufacturers,” remarked General Manager Brett Burns. “The introduction of the new Canter changes the game.  These Fuso trucks have unique features that will deliver significant advantages in lowering the overall cost of ownership, including improving fuel economy by 10-20 percent and extending oil change intervals to 18,000 miles.”
